Very strange feeling about the hotel. Normal price is definitely too high for it, because it has not been cleaned normally . carpets are dirty, elevator glass dirty as well. Even though outside was Riga s city center and we stayed on Friday night, it was not too loud outside. We were a bit unlucky though, neighbours inside were loud for sure Bed was great, in bathroom shampoo +conditioner miniatures , bathroom cleaned well. Good breakfast in very beautiful place They did not have hot water, but informed us about it and made a discount Location is perfect for a stay.
Definitely not worth 5 stars, maybe 1 or 2. - The lobby smells like ashtray, litter (food, plastic, used cotton sticks) everywhere - near entrance doors, in hallways. - Full of gypsies who hang their wet clothes in the hallways. - The room was dirty - chair was covered in pasta leftovers from other guests. The closet doors just fall off. - Reception had empty alcohol bottles on the desk. No person to be found to do the check-out. Feels like soviet hotel, not modern North Europe hotel which Riga is full of. Overall, location and the view was good
I don’t know how it got 5 stars. Terrible experience. We waited 20 minutes to do check in. We enter the room and there was a bad smell without the possibility to open the window. The air conditioning didn't work and there wasn't even hot water! No possibility to take a shower. We went to the reception explaining the problems, they changed our room at 3 am but the same problems (no AC and no hot water). At the end they didn’t solve the problem for us. Very poor breakfast. We saw no staff other than the receptionist who barely spoke english. What services did I pay for in a 5-star hotel?
