Face lifted older hotel with a quirky vibe. This hotel is in a centrally located area easily accessible to most of the major Boston universities. There's plenty of parking and generally the staff is friendly and responsive. There was one occasion where the lady at the front desk did not acknowledge our presence even though we were standing right next to it and she was on the phone but other than that it's been a good experience. There appear to be two major sections of the hotel. The rooms are comfortable and the beds are excellent but the noise level for the rooms that face the street is noticeable. One downside of the design choice is the selection of a barn door for the bathroom door which leaves a gap through which you can easily see into the bathroom when it's closed. Housekeeping is very prompt and receptive to any issues and they should be complimented. The alarm be quirky and there is also a free pool table. Breakfast is included and is your standard fare. There's also an attached eating area. There is an outside courtyard which looks like it has a bar area but this was not actively used when we were there. All in all a reasonable choice for the price. We would definitely consider staying here again. For those needing a workout, there are free passes available to a nearby gym. There is also easy access across the street to the excellent running paths along the Charles River.

A great place for family and couples. I loved the location and enjoyed the rooms. We didn't like the room that we first got because of the view. They offered us another room which was wonderful. I loved the artwork displayed in the room and found out that each room has different artwork. Cool! An inspirational hotel that encourages artistic expression. Will stay here again and have encouraged my friends and family to check it out.

Quirky hotel but I won’t be staying here again. I came to take a test and needed a late checkout given that I had gotten into Boston late at night. I tried calling in advance to reserve, but they told me to ask once I got there. I asked around midnight when I arrived, but was told I would have to come down in the morning to ask, which defeated the whole point of trying to get some extra rest before my test. I had said I was willing to pay for a late checkout and everything, and it didn’t seem like the place was full at the time. Also, the fellow that was at the desk at night was pretty short with me despite me being polite to them. The morning staff was much nicer, but by then it was too late for me to try and get a late checkout. Just work on the hospitality next time. Edit: Instead of acknowledging that there were things to work on here, I just received a response saying that my experience was just ‘extremely atypical’. I do not appreciate the doubt.
