Medium-sized, very nice hotel, located close to public transport, which can take you to all attractions in Kyoto. The rooms are small, but after moving the beds, I settled there comfortably with my friend. The common areas are spacious and very nicely arranged. Additional equipment is available, such as a phone charger, dressing gown, socks, slippers, comb, razors, hair bands, etc. Very good Japanese-style breakfast. During the early hours you can find a crowd in the dining room, but there are no queues, in the later morning hours it was completely empty at breakfast. During the day, free drinks such as juice, tea, coffee, lemonade are available. Very nice onsen. Friendly service.
This hotel is affordable and right across the street from Kyoto station but we never felt it was noisy. The public bath is on the first floor and we fully utilized it every day, which was perfect for relaxing after long days of walking. The breakfast buffet was my favorite out of all three hotels we stayed at that were more on the business hotel level and had really good salad and dessert. The rooms are kind of small but I’ve gotten used to that. I really liked the jinbei pajamas and wish I could have bought a similar set. We did use their laundry machine and it took forever, multiple cycles to fully dry our clothing.
I recently stayed at this lovely hotel a couple of weeks ago and I highly recommend it to anyone visiting/staying in Kyoto. It is ten out of ten! Giving it five stars for rooms, service and location. It is true that if breakfast and dinner is not included in your package I believe you would need to pay around 2,500 yen (breakfast) which comes out to $17 dollars but it is worth every single penny! Someone on here commented a year ago on the food and mentioned it “wasn’t that great” and “low quality” Not sure what was offered at that time but it is possible the hotel read their review and upgraded their menu since then because I found it to be top quality. Everything is super clean, organized and neat. There was a serving spoon for every single item on the menu. All perfectly labeled so that there is no confusion. The staff is also super attentive and made sure items were replenished. Japan is pretty safe in general and at this hotel you can’t even utilize the elevators unless you are staying here. Love this! I also stayed at Sakura Terrace for a few nights and there is no comparison, at all! I’d choose Royal Twin Hotel any day!! Several folks posted pictures of the rooms, and outdoor dining area. Instead I am posting a few videos of the lovely indoor dining area. Can’t recommend this place enough.
