Royal Victoria Ex British Embassy

My mother & I stayed at the Royal Victoria in July of 2025 and had a wonderful experience. The management & staff is exceptionally kind (especially Mr. Amor Mr. Lotfi) & we would absolutely recommend this lovely spot in Tunis. The hotel itself is beautifully adorned and although it sits in the very centre of the hustle and bustle in Tunis, the rooms were soundproof and the staff were very helpful in navigating the city!

The Hotel is OK but it could be very good with some maintenance. Pros: - Great location - Very cool architecture/design - Great price - Clean Cons: - The water temperature constantly goes between hot and cold, and it makes showering a chore - The rooms were super warm and the room air conditioning is actually just a fan - Everything is a bit tired and worn down (which is not a big deal for me). The water and air conditioning made the hotel a fairly unenjoyable stay. It's a 2 star hotel with fancy decor.

The hotel's best feature is undoubtedly its excellent location, which is very convenient and easily accessible. However, the overall experience was quite disappointing. The room was extremely small and lacked comfort. Service throughout the hotel was subpar and unresponsive. The restaurant offered low-quality food that did not meet expectations. Additionally, the furniture appeared worn and outdated, and the entire building showed clear signs of neglect and a need for renovation. The elevator was old and slow, and the air conditioning was not functioning properly, making the stay quite uncomfortable. This hotel has potential but urgently needs significant improvements to match its prime location.
