I stayed in the Loft King Suite at the Royalton for 21 nights on a business trip, which was combined with a week with my wife. My stay was very good and comfortable. The location is great and very accessible, with good proximity to everything. The bathtub was amazing with great water pressure, the beds were very comfortable, staff were very kind and helpful. The room is exceptionally big and for me was very comfortable. cleaning was very good. In terms of value for money - it depends on the price, as it fluctuates between days with dynamic pricing, but overall good value for money in my opinion. I do understand comments on a bit of outdated furniture such as aircon, which wasn't the best but definitely sufficient to have a great, comfortable stay. I must say the fact that the hotel doesn't have a bar is not an issue, many bars and restaurants all around. I sincerely recommend staying at the Royalton for business, couples, and families, I find it a comfortable and enjoyable hotel.
This one was rough, everyone. Heed the more recent reviews - while this might have been a nice hotel at some point, it was definitely not our favorite and we stay in the city overnight a lot. However, it served its purpose - a place for us to sleep after we went to the clubs in HK, but the overall dinginess of the room and eerily empty lobby left much to be desired. Side note: the lobby has so much potential for a fun bar/ lounge area and bustling atmosphere, but it’s just a ghost town now. My husband had to wait 30 minutes for someone to show up at the front desk for check-in. Our room had no view (which isn’t a problem but we didn’t even know if it was daylight when we woke up - it looked into a black pit between buildings). The elevators were a touch scary (we used the stairs a few times). The location and the pillows were the best part of the stay.
STOP! Before booking this hotel, read the most recent reviews. The photos you see are YEARS old and the amenities they list like a bar and restaurant are CLOSED. In all my years traveling this hotel was so bad we refused to stay here and left for the Hyatt a few blocks away for a similar price. Rooms are small, dirty and in need of serious updates. They refused to give a refund for the $40 “amenities” fee which I’ll fight with my credit card later. Any recent positive reviews on this place have to be made up. The 3 rooms we saw were all like the photos I attached. Pay a few bucks more and stay somewhere much nicer!
