I had the most special two nights at Royan Hotel. Starting with the location — it’s situated in a quiet part of Sultanahmet, yet it’s lively and close to everything. It’s about a 10-minute walk from Hagia Sophia and the Blue Mosque. The receptionists were very welcoming, helpful, and kind. They guided me around the area and answered all my questions — and they all speak English very well. I booked the Presidential Suite, which is probably the best room you can get — not just in this hotel but maybe in all of Sultanahmet! It was very spacious as it consist of two bedrooms that are very modern, spotless, and has the biggest terrace with the most beautiful view. I’d also like to praise the cleaning lady — she was so sweet, always smiling, and always around to help. Her warm presence and hard work made my stay feel even more special. I don’t really recommend the breakfast, as it’s quite basic. You’ll find more authentic and varied breakfast options all around Sultanahmet. Lastly, I really enjoyed my stay — and the reception surprised me with a sweet little gift when I checked out, which was such a nice touch, hoping to visit again in the future.
Everything at Royan Hotel was to our satisfaction. The location is perfect, a walking distance from the blue mosque area and the seaside. The breakfast, terrace view, rooms, AC conditioning, cafe and outdoor seating areas are exceptionally excellent. The quiet atmosphere the hotel offers is amazing. We are so grateful to the generous welcome of everyone at Royan Hotel, most especially Mr. Serwt who helped with our booking. His welcoming personality and helpful attitude truly stand out. Because of him, the hotel has gained us as customers. 💯 recommend.
I recently stayed for 7 nights here with my family, and overall, we had a great experience. From the very first impression, the hotel stands out — the exterior looks brand new, with a modern style and fresh, well-maintained facilities. Although the rooms were quite small, they were cozy and comfortable. The hotel thoughtfully provided an additional bed for our baby and helped us arrange it in the room, which we really appreciated. The hotel is also child-friendly. At check-in, they gave our child a set of colored pencils and a drawing/coloring notebook, which was a lovely touch. There was also a baby chair available, which made meal times easier. Housekeeping was excellent throughout our stay — the room was always clean, tidy, and well-prepared, adding to the comfort of our stay. The bathroom amenities were of good quality, showing attention to detail. One of the true highlights was the exceptional, client-oriented staff. Every team member we met was friendly, accommodating, and multilingual, which made communication easy and pleasant. Breakfast on the rooftop was another highlight. The quality was great — fresh fruits, good coffee, and a nice atmosphere with lovely views. That said, I think the variety of options could be expanded a bit to make the experience even better. Based on the hotel’s recommendation, we went for a cruise trip that cost €80. While the experience was enjoyable, I felt that Beylerbeyi Palace and Çamlıca Mosque (the largest mosque in Istanbul, on the Asian side) were the most worthwhile parts of the excursion. I would recommend visiting those places separately — it would likely be more cost-effective and give you more time to explore at your own pace. One area for improvement: the hotel arranged a taxi for us to the airport at a fixed price of 1,400 lira. However, at the end of the trip, the driver tried to charge extra, using toll roads as an excuse. This should not have happened, and I hope the hotel pays closer attention to this in the future to protect the guest experience. Finally, while the hotel provided two 0.5-liter bottles of water daily as a complimentary service, this wasn’t quite sufficient considering the summer heat and that we were two adults and a child. The staff were always kind in providing extra bottles upon request, but proactively offering a bit more water would make the stay even more comfortable, especially for families. In summary, the hotel is a charming boutique hotel in a fantastic location — within walking distance to the main tourist attractions. I would gladly recommend it to others and hope to return again one day.
