2 nights with Luxury Escapes was a fantastic package highly recommend these deals great value. Breakfast amazing selection for both mornings. Staff so happy and friendly. Room perfect accept the view from balcony overlooking the huge roof. Dinner in Gather Restaurant was amazing. Dinner down stairs first night we ordered side of twice cooked crispy potatoes. Terrible no way they were crispy. All in all most enjoyable two nights away.
The room felt like I was entering a room that has not had any major changes/upgrades over the last 30 years. The heater took almost an entire day to raise the temperature in the room, and the inside of it was definitely not cleaned for I dare to guess 1-2 years, the dust built up in there was just abnormal. Location wise, great location. And it seems to be a great place to go with kids during summer, the pool area looks fantastic.
We had an extremely disappointing experience with Rydges that left a sour note on what was otherwise a perfect wedding day. The mother of the bride had booked an after-party with Rydges well in advance of our wedding, confirming 50 guests for 11:15pm. Just two days before the wedding, Rydges reached out to confirm the time and numbers, and she promptly responded—receiving a reply that simply said, "thanks for letting us know." On the day, a guest even checked in with Rydges staff ahead of time and was told the after-party was expected. But when our guests began arriving at the confirmed time, they were turned away and told the venue was no longer honouring the booking. I immediately called and was told by staff that they hadn't yet sent everyone home and would wait for me to arrive in 10–15 minutes to sort things out. When I got there—on time—I was shocked to be told that they had in fact already sent all their staff home because it was a "quiet night." No call, no apology, no attempt to reach us—even though guests had already started showing up. This was incredibly unprofessional and deeply upsetting, especially on a day that meant so much to us. We expected better from a venue that presents itself as event-ready and guest-focused. I cannot recommend Rydges for event bookings, particularly for special occasions, due to this complete lack of communication, reliability, and care.
