We’ve stayed at the Ryukyu Hotel & Resort Nashiro Beach twice now, and both experiences have been absolutely wonderful. The hotel is exceptionally clean, the facilities are well-maintained, and the staff are consistently polite, professional, and attentive. One staff member in particular truly stood out to us — Javier, a gentleman from Barcelona, Spain, who works at the morning buffet. I first met him during our initial stay, and as a fellow Spanish speaker, I really appreciated the warm and friendly conversation we shared. He was incredibly pleasant and welcoming, and we’ve actually kept in touch over the years since that first visit. When we returned to the hotel for our second stay, it was a real joy to see him again. His presence and kindness added a very personal and memorable touch to our experience. Javier has genuinely made our stays even more special, and we’re very grateful for the connection. Highly recommend this hotel — not just for its quality and beautiful location, but also for the people who make it feel like home.
I would say 4.5 out of 5. There really isn’t an adult poor, or a pool bar. The entire time we were here there was typhoon and tsunami warnings so we couldn’t get in the ocean. Staff was very helpful, location is close for taxi to local restaurants (which are better than the one we tried on the property, for much less). The views are beautiful, rooms are nice and the facility is very clean. Staff 5 out of 5!
If you’re looking for a family-friendly hotel where flexibility is strictly forbidden and common sense is contraband, Ryukyu Hotel at Nashiro Beach might just be your dream destination. Traveling with a sick baby? Don’t worry – the hotel certainly won’t. Room service? Nonexistent. Want to take a meal or even a single drink back to your room to care for your child? Prepare to be followed—literally—by a frantic waitress to ensure you don’t commit such an unthinkable act. We were told there was absolutely no way to bring food to the room, even though dining reservations were already fully booked. Apparently, compassion and hospitality aren’t part of the all-inclusive package here. The hotel boasts an impressive set of arbitrary rules, enforced with the same intensity you’d expect at a military base, not a beach resort. Want to enjoy a quiet moment on your balcony with a soft drink? Forbidden. Want to eat with your child in peace? Unthinkable. To top it off, it was our wedding anniversary. With a sick baby in our arms and no restaurant available (or willing) to help, we ended up eating Domino’s Pizza in the room—because that was the only option left. Nothing like cold pizza and a crying infant to make your special day unforgettable. Our time in Okinawa was meant to be peaceful and restorative. Instead, it became a Kafkaesque vacation under surveillance and needless rigidity. If you enjoy being micromanaged while trying to relax, and consider emotional distress part of your travel experience – then by all means, book your stay. Otherwise, spare yourself the disappointment. 2 stars, because of their fast help when finding appropriate medical care for our child.
