I had a late check in and it was even later than expected because my train was a hour late. They do request that you contact them and let them know if you need a late check in when I talk to them on the phone about the late check in I was told by midnight, but when I get here, the guy tells me by 2:30am so I got mixed information about that. I reserved online through a third party company, Priceline, it stated $115 plus tax property fee upon arrival to be paid directly to the hotel. When I checked in he tells me $400, $100 per night and that it is refundable deposit. I was not expecting to pay a fee every night after paying $1220 just for a 4 nights stay. It was refunded at the end of my stay. Be sure when you check in you receive the food and beverage credit as well as tickets to the Ferris wheel and children’s Museum. They do not give you the things that are included with your room besides the two bottles of water. You have to ask for them. After settled into the room I was going to warm up something to eat and I realized that their rooms don’t come with microwaves. By this time, it’s 1:30am here, but 2:30 for me as I from out of town. After using the bathroom the toilet starts running so we have to leave the toilet lid off to fix it every time we use the bathroom. I told a worker I saw in the hall about the toilet. She said she was gonna have somebody come and fix it. I’m not sure if somebody came to fix it while we were out but the toilet still runs. The toilet ran the whole 4 nights we were there. We are in building 3 on the 6th floor with a great view of the water! The people next-door to us and the people upstairs made a lot of noise. Upstairs, we heard constant walking up until 3:30 in the morning, next-door to us was just talking loud, and if we sit in the window, we can hear the TV downstairs. This wasn’t too bothersome because I turned the TV volume up loud enough to override the noise that surround us .If I return, I’m asking for the top floor so I don’t have to hear constant walking around over my head. There’s lots of things to do in the area in the room comes with a tablet that provides you with information about the area and the hotel. I interacted with multiple front desk, staff and they were very nice.
First time staying here and it was very nice. Checking was easy. Parking in the parking garage was 65$. No in and out. But I had easy access to my car from the walkway inside navy pier. You need a room key to access the floors which is a nice security measure. Lots of places to eat and drink. Stay away from the Spanish restaurant in the lobby. At least stay away from the calamari. I work as a server at capital grille so I’ve had very good calamari before and the one we ordered from lirica restaurant was awful. Very very chewy. Drinks were good so maybe just stick to a cocktail. Fireworks on Wednesday and Saturday here at navy pier so we saw them from our room. Glass from ceiling to floor was very nice. Beds were comfy and the room was ice cold. Loved that. All in all I enjoyed my stay
It’s weird, some of the people at the front desk feel like they just want your money and are “fake nice”. A “I’ll be nice to you and smile as long as you have money to give me” type of vibe. Didn’t feel genuine. I don’t feel like they catered to families. Everything felt like it was geared towards rich singles. Room and bathroom were clean and view were very pretty. Everything including the hotel stay and parking was overpriced. I felt like i was being guilted into tipping the valet every time they brought out my car or parked it. They don’t have drinking water or fountains readily available so you have to pay $6 per regular sized off brand bottle of water, and the worst part is the front desk workers just act like that’s a normal price to pay. I definitely wouldn’t bring a whole family here unless you’re willing to greatly overpay.
