Saginoyuso

Everything about my stay here in late February is top notch: location, staff, food, onsen. I recommend Saginoyusou highly. My plane arrived at Izumo late. The taxi cab driver phoned for me to let staff know we were on our way. I was welcomed like long lost family and fed a hot dinner. My room on the first floor (Ume) was spacious, comfortable, and included a private onsen on the porch overlooking an exquisite garden. Every meal was a poem extolling the virtues of local seafood and produce. The staff made sure I enjoyed my two day stay and helped me get to my next stop in Matsue City. If you want to thoroughly enjoy and explore this region, please consider spending time here. I know I want to return for a longer stay in a different season.

It is a nice Ryokan that seems to be renovated. The food is good. There is one main indoor bath and an outdoor one. There are two private ones you can reserve to use. Some of the rooms have private Onsen baths right outside.

Went for a quick dip while cycling. Loved the place. Quiet and relaxed and friendly staff (considering how sweaty and unwashed I must've looked like...). The open air bath is greatly recommended. As of the time of writing, the bath fee is 700JPY and as a day guest you will need to come before 2pm or after 6pm. The early slot is recommended, as there tend to be less people.
