Location is great but the price of parking isn't. $27 if they do it, $18 if you pay yourself.....and they didn't tell me that. The room was great but the bathroom had a used towel in it....miss that one. The view is great from the Harbour side and their is lots of places to shop, eat and walk in this area.

This property needs renovating. It does look like they are starting the process. The rooms are clean but very dated. Bed comfortable. Washroom smaller than most Hilton's. More in line with what you see at a Doubletree. Shout out to the ladies working the breakfast, they were excellent. Location cannot be beat, it is on the water right in the middle of historic uptown. I had a waterfront club room and while it is industrial, we really enjoyed the views and watching the large boats. Parking is across the street in the deck, no issues. There is an underground tunnel that connects the parking deck and the market square area to the hotel.

We’ve had great stays at Hilton hotels in other cities, but our one-night visit to the St. John location really missed the mark. The main positive is the hotel’s location—it’s right by the waterfront and just steps from the local market. It’s incredibly convenient and beautiful, and that’s what made us choose it in the first place. The buffet breakfast was also a highlight: fresh, plentiful, and well-organized. It was a nice way to start the day. Unfortunately, the rest of the experience didn’t live up to expectations. We were offered parking for $28 a night, only to later discover the standard evening rate was just $18. Although the front desk reimbursed the fee after I brought it up, the lack of clarity left a bad impression. Renovations were underway, and although we didn’t hear any construction noise, the rusty elevator door was a concern—especially with my kids nearby. Inside our room, the carpet felt sticky and clearly needed cleaning. I was charged $6.99 for Wi-Fi before realizing the password was tucked away on a slip of paper in the key packet—something that should have been pointed out upfront. On top of that, we didn’t have enough towels, and the housekeeping line didn’t work, so I had to contact the front desk instead. For a hotel at this price point, the level of service, cleanliness, and overall communication fell short. I hope Hilton takes these issues seriously and improves the quality to better reflect the high standards we’ve come to expect elsewhere.
