Salamander Washington DC

My family and I had the absolute best hotel-stay experience at The Salamander hotel! We spent a little under a week, and we cannot wait to return. The customer service was excellent and preeminent. Every individual we encountered greeted us with a smile and to be honest made us feel pretty special. The gentlemen who valet were very kind and proactive about retrieving our vehicle. The staff at the desk and throughout were so attentive and kind. The facility is beyond beautiful and so clean. The kids loved the pool, and I appreciated a nice workout area. The food at the lounge was also incredible. So much so, we ordered room service our final night after dining there in person the evening before. We all felt very welcome here and again the service far surpassed any stay we’ve experienced previously at any hotel. Thank you to The Salamander for making our DC trip so memorable.

We had the pleasure of staying at the Salamander hotel in July of 2025. Gonzalo checked us in and was wonderful. We had reserved a water facing room, but specifically requested a view of the Jefferson Memorial. He obliged with a beautiful room that was exactly what we requested. Unfortunately our stay had to be shortened due to an emergency with one of our pets. The hotel was so very gracious in working with us, refunding our unused night. We were sad to leave, but we will be returning guests. The hospitality shown by this hotel won us over. While this shouldn’t be a side-note, the room and ambiance were lovely!

Valet parking caused about a 1-hour delay on 7/3/2025 night Getting extra towels took hours. Other services were also very slow. If you want ice, be prepared to wait for hours for delivery. Breakfast area had long wait times. Spa was fully booked. The facility itself is great. The overall fragrance throughout the property is very pleasant. Nice pool.
