We had a wonderful stay at Samaria hotel. The staff was helpful, answering all of our questions in a very friendly way, they all spoke good English. The room was spacious and clean, the bathroom had a big bathtub and was also clean. During breakfast we had different choices and everything was delicious, especially "les crêpes", and the terasse had a nice view. We enjoyed 1 hour of spa, the hammam was just what we needed after a day of walking. The placement of the hotel is perfect, the main attractions are in walking distance, you can find shops and restaurants near by too.
Nice hotel with comfortable beds. The staff is friendly, helpful and speaks well English. The buffet breakfast on the rooftop is very rich and diverse. The WiFi in our room was not always working fast, but we had no problem at reception or on the rooftop. Grocery stores and restaurants nearby.
The young lady at the front counter was great. Good at her job! A highlight of our service experience. The average Uzbek bed, I have found, is quite firm. This was my experience at Samaria. I prefer softer beds but with firm being the average through my Uzbek experiences, I can't fault Samaria for that. An annoying issue was the shower easily got water on the floor even with the curtain properly closed. There was also a back to the tub that was semi removed and should have been fixed prior to our arrival (details). This was the first tub I have seen where there is a 5 inch gap behind the tub. Shower water easily gets out because there is not a back curtain. A poor design with annoying clean up after showering. Also presents a safety hazard for slipping. Breakfast on the roof top was good. Wide selection of foods. Plenty of comfortable seating with city views. Some of the breakfast staff seemed annoyed that they had to maintain the food selections. Annoyed when customers were informing them that items needed attention or table settings needed replaced. If you can't work with the public, don't work with the public. It's not that hard. Smell of sewer gas in bathrooms was unattractive. I would come back if I didn't have many options. I would find a different hotel for my next visit if the option was there. The attention to detail that I would expect at a hotel in the West is not remotely being met at this location for the basic things. If someone can easily overlook these imperfections, then maybe this location would serve you well.
