A Wonderful Stay at Hotel Samir with Exceptionally Welcoming Staff I had the pleasure of staying at Hotel Samir in Istanbul, and it truly exceeded my expectations. From the moment I arrived, the staff made me feel at home with their warm hospitality and friendly attitude. They were incredibly helpful, always greeting me with a smile and ready to assist with anything I needed. Check-in was quick and smooth, and I was even welcomed with a complimentary drink, which was a lovely touch after a long journey. The team at the front desk was full of great recommendations for local attractions, restaurants, and how to get around the city. The room was clean, comfortable, and quiet—perfect for relaxing after a busy day exploring Istanbul. But what made this stay truly memorable was the kindness and professionalism of the staff. They genuinely care about their guests and it shows in every interaction. I highly recommend Hotel Samir to anyone visiting Istanbul. If you're looking for a place with excellent service and a welcoming atmosphere, this is the one!

I’m giving a rating of 9 solely thanks to the person who received us – Owen. He answered every question, welcomed us before check-in time, and helped me a lot. The price was excellent for what we booked. The other staff members were not helpful. We were asked if we needed breakfast since we were leaving early, and we said yes – but in the morning, they told us there was no bread, so they prepared nothing. Booking.com states that a baby crib is available, but it turned out there wasn’t one at all.

Highly disappointing – would not recommend We booked a deluxe double room, but were given a cramped single room with no working air conditioning, no functioning TV, and missing basic amenities. Only after persistent complaints and frustration did an older, more professional receptionist finally change our room to what we had actually paid for. Most staff were extremely unprofessional—no greetings, no assistance, and visible disinterest. During breakfast, we had to ask for a dirty table to be cleaned, and the young staff member reacted with annoyance and muttered something under his breath in Turkish. The walls are paper-thin, and overall cleanliness and comfort were below standard. The hotel looks much better in photos than in reality. It does not live up to its 4-star claim—two stars would be generous. After this experience, receiving a WhatsApp message asking for a 10/10 review was simply insulting. It’s clear they care more about inflated ratings than actual guest satisfaction. The only positive experience was the lovely housekeeping lady, who was kind, hardworking, and the only one acting like a true professional. We left feeling disappointed, frustrated, and determined never to return.
