Samson Beach Chalets

Family 2 bedroom chalet was great. A bit expensive but can sleep up to 8 using the 2 futon lounges in main area.

While the location is fantastic the sights are not. We booked 12 months in advance. On arrival we were told there had been some changes. The sight we were shoved on was tiny, barely fit our tent. No where to park our car or boat. We were told we would just have to park it off sight at a public car park. That’s unacceptable. When we paid the same for a tent sight as others do for a van sight we expect the same accomodations like somewhere to park our car.! Our neighbours were right on top of us to the point we could hear their very quiet radio Crystal clear. Simply not what we had booked. We left 8 days early.

Somewhat disappointed once I got there. Reviews indicated it would be value but I'm afraid I can't say the same as others. The room I had was near the pool, good location but open the door and it smelt like someone had been smoking in there. I'd say the door was left open as other occupants had sat outside with an ashtray indicating that's probably what happened. The bathroom was akin to what you would find in a dated hospital and again not worth the $250/night. The bed and other amenities were ok but I won't be using the place again. Check in, checkout was via a key in a basket at the office, didn't see any staff at all.
