I am only giving this a 3 for location because you could t really get anywhere without a taxi which are quite expensive Now that is said, this place is like a slice of heaven, stunning and located in the forest… wonderfully quiet and a private pool too (be careful of the copper levels!!) John, the owner was made to be a host, we were so well looked after! My daughter swam in the pool and her hair changed colour, I am not saying this to moan but to emphasis how incredible John and team are… they couldn’t do enough to make things right, their care and thoughtfulness are second to none. I also need to point out that this incident was NOT their fault They have just started doing sorbet and breakfasts, wow!! You must try! The room was absolutely stunning! So many thoughtful touches and the decor was beautiful.
Staying at this villa was an incredible experience. The place is truly spectacular — nestled right in the heart of the jungle, offering a perfect mix of nature, beauty, and comfort. Every corner of the property is immaculately cared for, and you can tell the hosts put a lot of love and attention into maintaining it. It’s honestly even better than the pictures — peaceful, beautifully designed, and a true hidden gem. For the price, it’s an absolute steal. I felt completely at ease from the moment I arrived, and every day there was pure magic. I’m already looking forward to coming back. This villa is one of those rare places that stays with you long after you leave. Highly recommended!
I was honestly shocked to see how many positive reviews this hotel had on Google. After our stay, it’s hard to understand how others had such a different experience. Check my other reviews, I rarely ever leave negative ones but this situation was too uncomfortable not to share. We arrived at night after a long journey, hoping to be welcomed with warmth and hospitality. Instead, we were met by a Swiss man at the front desk who gave off a distinctly negative and aggressive energy from the moment we arrived. Despite his rudeness, we stayed calm and asked if the hotel offered motorbikes. He said they did and handed us a list. When we made our choice, he abruptly told us it was a “bad choice” and pressured us to choose a more expensive option. Having lived in Thailand for a long time, I know what bikes I like and what suits my needs. I thanked him for the suggestion but stood by my choice. At that point, his ego seemed bruised, and instead of processing the rental, he closed the book and said, “Okay, if you don’t want a bike, go get it yourself.” Just because we didn’t pick the bike he recommended. It was an unprofessional and unnecessary response. The next morning, we had to order a Grab and travel to the nearest bike rental shop ourselves something he could have easily helped with, but clearly chose not to out of spite. Rather than escalate the situation, we said nothing his behaviour gave us the impression that if we pushed back, he might throw us out. That’s genuinely how tense and uncomfortable he made us feel. When he showed us to our villa, he marched us around giving strict warnings about fines for using oils or balms on the bed, as if we were children needing discipline, not paying guests who had booked a detached pool villa at a premium price. Throughout our stay, I felt on edge, always hoping to avoid another encounter with this man. It truly affected our ability to relax and enjoy what could have been a lovely experience. The tone was set from the moment we arrived, and unfortunately, it didn’t improve. Although the overall experience was disappointing, I can’t fault the quality of the villa or resort itself. It was spacious, well-furnished, and had great potential for a relaxing stay. If the manager had shown the same level of care for his guests as the has for the property, this could have been a completely different experience. I feel bad for the lovey Thai staff working there that have to put up with that kind of passive aggressive behaviour on a daily basis
