Nicely renovated, beautiful surroundings. Breakfast buffet varied and good quality but not outstanding. Expected more juice variety (this is Ecuador!) and better cheeses. Events: food and execution were great.
Charming hotel with beautiful, well kept grounds. My boyfriend and I stayed here while in town for a wedding. We originally planned to only stay for 3 nights, but ended up extending another 3 nights because we loved it so much! It is a little far from Quito (35-40 mins), but taxis/Ubers are easy to come by and cheap. Very clean and comfortable rooms and friendly staff. The breakfast was delicious but could use some variety. We got a little bored of it after 6 days. We also had dinner at the hotel restaurant one night and it was fantastic! Lots of Ecuadorian dishes on the menu. We used the airport pick up/drop off service and it was very convenient. They even packed us a breakfast to take to the airport for our 7 am flight. Last thing: the hotel cat Caramelo is the sweetest, cutest cat ever!!!
We landed at the airport. They said there was an airport shuttle. There was no airport shuttle that we could find. Not a big deal. It was a $15 cab ride. Got to the hotel around 11:00 pm. Got to the room. There was a giant spider in the room. Not a big deal, dealt with the spider. Then there wasn’t hot water. Then there wasn’t any water at all. Not in the shower. Not in the sink. They let us shower in the room next door. It was 1:00 am by the time we were showered. Then they came to our room at 7:15 am to look at the water situation. This was my second worst hotel experience of my life. I’m 50 and I have stayed in 100s of hotels in over a dozen countries. Do yourself a favor and stay somewhere else. I think staying in the airport would have been better. I probably would have gotten more sleep! A terrible way to start a vacation.
