San Karlu Hotel

Nice, brand new hotel (2025). Tastefully renovated building, superb breakfast. Soundproofing in the rooms could be better. Nice rooftop pool but cold in the sping. Breakfast area could be bigger and better planed.

Very nice hotel and I recommend. Even though the very center can be noisy, this hotel was despite being in center still somehow in a remote place in really historic building. Room was spacious and had everything needed (besides iron was brought to the room very fast). Room had a very big bed and was comfortable. Extra + for bath Breakfast was nice, and service was very helpful.

The hotel is clean and appears recently renovated. The staff were friendly and helpful. Pool area small but adequate for an end of day cool off. Why the low rating? I was checked into a courtyard room. It smelt damp, the kind of smell you find in basements and tunnels; that’s because despite being upper ground, this is a basement room. No fresh air, natural light or ventilation as there was only one small corner window that opened into a common area. I’m prone to asthma and as soon as I stepped foot in the room I needed my puffers. I didn’t complain as the hotel appeared full, and I was only staying a few days. I was intending to get some laundry done, which I expect to be expensive… but €95 and a two day turn around wasn’t expected… so I skipped that. Go early for breakfast. The breakfast area is small and doesn’t have enough room for all the guests. I would consider staying here again but only if the room had windows.
