The concept was pretty interesting, but I could tell that the room was pretty old but they did their best to refurbish it.

Shanghai's metamorphosis over the past few decades is a testament to China's broader urban evolution. The cityscape of the 1970s and 1980s, characterized by agricultural fields and modest structures, has given way to a skyline punctuated by towering skyscrapers and bustling commercial centers. This transformation is emblematic of the shift from a primarily agrarian society to an urban industrial powerhouse. The transition from the Qianhe 千鹤Hotel to the San Want神旺 Hotel, although not well-documented, is indicative of the widespread redevelopment projects that have redefined the region. For those who left Shanghai during its earlier days, returning to the city now would be a journey through time, witnessing first-hand the economic reforms that have propelled the city into the forefront of global commerce. The value of the US dollar and the cost of living in Shanghai have indeed shifted, mirroring the city's ascent on the world stage. While nostalgia for the past is understandable, the present-day Shanghai demands a new level of engagement and adaptability from its residents and visitors alike, as they navigate a city that has been thoroughly transformed by progress and prosperity.

Very we'll located, just a stone's throw away from the subway station. The rooms are ok, bathrooms in the shall side. The design is dated and a bit gaudy for my taste. The ambient aroma in the lobby is quite soothing. I'd say that for the same price there are other better options in the city with newer facilities
