Sanctuary at Grand Memories Varadero

Spent 5 nights here at beginning of June and the experience was amazing. They had a restaurant specifically for sanctuary guests with no shortage of food. We went to the main buffet at Grand memories a few times and they occasionally do run out of some items. Staff was super friendly all around. Highly recommend the sanctuary side as it is adults only with their own pool, snack bar (morning and afternoon only) and 24 hr air conditioned lounge with great evening entertainment (live music and 80s music night were superb). Also the premium class will allow late check-out til 2pm and additionally $20usd or $25cad per hour. We heard from other guests that non premium are charged $85cad per hour and no late check-out is offered so beware of your flight times. There are butlers for different buildings that can help you with anything from reservations of restaurants throughout the resort to booking excursions. Separate section of the beach so it was nice and quiet and there are staff that will help you get drinks from the bar if you don't feel like walking. Beach was gorgeous as always. We had a few windy days so the water was rough at times so we just hung out at the pool. Bring cash for tips/ cigarette purchases/late check out sometimes their machines don't work. We had 1 power outage for about 2 hours during our stay around evening time but we were napping so it didn't affect us. Will definitely return to this resort.

Is our fourth time here at the Sanctuary and we love this place. The staff are helpful,kind,warm,professional and friendly... Renier and Roxana, our butlers, were extremely attentive and helpful when we needed them. At the beach, the staff, especially Carlos, were very attentive to our needs, given I have a bum knee. The entertaiment team at the pool, Naomi is super cool. The guy with a lot of characters, Leo, was a hoot! The food was good and drinks super enough to be drunk all the time if that's your thing. The bbq at the beach was always delicious and timely if you missed breakfast. The room was a bit run down and needs some attention but was liveable. The location of our room in bldg 35 was perfect and the bed was comfortable. The pool is clean and the beach is super awesome. We will definitely come back!!!

A beautiful, quiet section of one of Varaderos biggest resorts. While their breakfast buffet has less options, you can always go out to the big one. Private beach sectiok is lovely, though the sanctuary pool has very little permanent shade. All of the workers have been so kind! Rooms could use more investment (no fitted sheets?), but overall very worthy of a 4 star rating. Had many lovely meals & conversations here, a great place for couples. Will be returning soon!
