The most incredible hotel experience I’ve ever had. It wasn’t just the unbeatable location near Machu Picchu — it was the entire atmosphere that made this place unforgettable. The serene, lush gardens create a peaceful escape, and every detail of the hotel radiates charm and tranquility. The food was exceptional — I had dinner, lunch, and breakfast at the on-site restaurant, and every meal was thoughtful, fresh, and absolutely delicious. Each dining experience felt special, with flavors that matched the beauty of the surroundings. What truly set it apart, though, was the service. The team went above and beyond — I’ve never experienced hospitality like this anywhere else. It truly was the highlight of my trip to Peru, and I’m already dreaming of coming back one day.

We had a truly special stay at Sanctuary Lodge. You can’t beat the location—literally steps from the entrance to Machu Picchu. The hotel is beautiful and peaceful, with thoughtful touches like complimentary raincoats, reusable water bottles, and even an edible chocolate sculpture in the room. Service was exceptional from start to finish. Anthony at the front desk made us feel so welcome, and Edy in the restaurant made every meal feel like a treat. We had the full board package, and the food was outstanding—especially dinner at the main restaurant. Our room was cozy but very comfortable, with a private patio and a great bed. One great perk: even after checkout, you can come back to shower if you revisit Machu Picchu. Highly recommend for a luxurious, stress-free experience!

Belmond Sanctuary Lodge offers an unbeatable location — right at the entrance to Machu Picchu. You simply can’t get closer, and that alone makes the experience incredibly special. Being able to access the citadel early and return to relax mid-day is a huge advantage. The property is beautiful, with lush gardens and stunning views. The staff is warm, professional, and attentive, always ready to help. The included meals were very good, especially breakfast and afternoon tea. That said, the rooms are quite small and don’t fully reflect the high-end price tag. While everything was clean and well-kept, the decor and space felt more modest than expected for a Belmond property. Still, the overall experience was memorable and unique. If convenience and exclusive access to Machu Picchu are your priorities, this is the best place to stay.
