Sand Dunes Resort 2926

The stay was about as expected for the price. We’ve been coming to Myrtle for several years now and the location of this resort is great. The amenities on site are also great, though a bit pricey compared to others we’ve stayed. The room was clean upon arrival, though no housekeeping was offered throughout the week we stayed. Not a huge deal for us. The stove took about 30-40 minutes to boil water so we didn’t do much cooking in the unit because of this. The view was wonderful and everyone in our party spent tons of time on the balcony. That is, when majority of our neighbors weren’t smoking the devils lettuce above and below us. That was probably the worst part about the stay. The kids couldn’t stand it and I don’t blame them. The kids also trapped a 4” roach in the arcade. Thankfully that was the only one we witnessed. Lastly, the parking was hit or miss. Some days we could park in the provided garage, and other days we had to pay $20+ to park outside the garage and walk because the garage was full. I would suggest this place if you’re on a tighter budget and want an oceanfront room with tons of amenities on site. However, there are a lot of nicer places to stay at if your willing to spend more money.

I noticed my kids feet black came to find out it was floors in the room very filthy. Good thing I brought my own cleaning spray. I had to wipe the whole floor in the room. Towels came out very dark and dirty after I wiped the floor. Bathroom sink keep getting clothed. Indoor swimming pool needs attention. So much mold built up around pool people were slipping. Definitely bad experience there.

Dirty, no upkeep there was 4 of us we stopped in route to Florida for 2 nights. I will explain 1 room. Bathroom had black mould on the curtain and under all the tub edges. Came with 1/2 roll of toilet paper, toilet seat was loose had to straighten before u sat down and the vent had what looked like 2 years of dust buildup. Good location and it served it purpose though.
