A pleasant visit with our friends who are using a cottage. Cottage is well maintained and equipped, comfortable. Pleasant surrounding woodlands with access. Ideally located for visiting Fife Perthshire and Angus.

Staying at Valentines Cottage – Sandford Country Cottages is not just a getaway — it’s a gentle return to yourself. The cottage is nestled in the heart of the Scottish countryside, where the silence speaks and the windows open to living paintings of trees, clouds, and breath. Every corner holds warmth. The wooden beams, the soft light, the calm — it’s as if the space itself knows how to hold you. I spent mornings sipping tea in silence, watching the world outside move slowly, beautifully. No rush. No pressure. Just peace. This place reminded me that slowness is not a weakness… it’s a form of healing. Scotland didn’t just welcome me — it embraced me.

We have visited twice, once with friends and once with family. Both visits were wonderful. Evelyn is an amazing host. The apartments have everything you need for a few days. We particularly appreciated the travel cots, high chairs, and baby gates at the stairs as we were travelling with two under two. The welcome basket was a lovely surprise upon arrival. It's easy to get to Dundee or St Andrews.
