The rooms were hot but they do have fans in them. The morning buffet was wonderful with lots of options and is open until eleven am. The spa was very relaxing and we liked the big white robes to use going there.
I had dinner at ”Terassen”. There are several restaurants all connected to the hotel, which was a bit confusing at first. But you can find each menu on their website. Location was superb and I really liked the starter with Red Shrimps. Quite spicy if you’re into that. The restaurant was full, but I think they still managed the orders okay. And all the personell was polite and nice.
As a restaurant manager myself, I always approach new dining experiences with appreciation for the effort it takes to run a quality establishment. I was looking forward to visiting this venue, especially given the pricing and visual presentation which suggested a fine dining concept. However, my experience left me with several concerns regarding consistency with that standard. The tasting menu was visually refined and plated in a fine dining style, yet it lacked innovation or a clear culinary identity. While each dish was competently prepared, nothing stood out in terms of creativity or depth of flavor. It was technically correct — but uninspiring. The biggest shortcoming, however, was the service. Every single dish was served carelessly – plates were placed on the table without attention to positioning or presentation, often left protruding over the edge, lacking the finesse expected in this setting. The main course was not served directly to the guest in accordance with fine dining standards. Moreover, there was no explanation or introduction to the dishes at all — I was simply told “meat” and “fish”, with no mention of ingredients, preparation, or concept. In a refined dining experience, I expect at least a brief description of what is being served, to help frame the culinary intent. An additional issue occurred when I stepped outside briefly for a cigarette and was informed I might not be allowed back in — despite wearing the event wristband. When I politely asked to speak with a manager, the security staff member dismissed the request entirely, acting as if I hadn’t spoken at all. This created a confusing and uncomfortable situation that disrupted the flow of the evening and felt unprofessional. It seems the venue is attempting to combine a fine dining concept with a nightlife or club atmosphere. While ambitious, in this case, the two experiences feel more conflicting than complementary. In summary, while the idea has potential, I believe the venue would benefit significantly from more attention to detail in both service and guest experience. At this price point, guests should expect not only well-plated dishes, but also a level of service that supports and elevates the culinary offering.
