Santa Marina Unique Hotel

I've spent the last week at the hotel with my daughter and we had a great experience, including because of the following: - The hotel is 1 min walk from the beach and we could quickly return to our room whenever we needed. - The room was clean and newly renovated, which made it pleasant to stay and touch anything we needed there. The air conditioning has 3 levels of intensity and we used the lowest intensity, which was enough for us. Our room was beside a small street, but it didn't bother us as the isolation is good and we closed the balcony door during the night in order to have a quiet sleep. - The hotel staff was friendly and helpful. It felt like the staff was a friendly team working together to make guests’ stays pleasant. Even though it's a big hotel, we felt we received the necessary attention and support. - The hotel yard is a beautitul, green, and joyful place to relax and have the morning coffee. - The hotel has an accessible rooftop, which is a nice place to watch the sunset and have a panoramic view of the beach and the surrounding mountains. - The nearby beach is always great for swimming as it has no waves. It wasn't too crowded, as it is a large beach for Crete. The nearby port didn't bother us and it's a nice place to walk around. We did not use the hotel swimming pool because the nearby beach oferred everything we needed.

Very polite staff, solid choice for breakfast, tasty food for dinner. Always 2-3 kinds of meat and fish, water included. There is a fridge and central AirCon (which works properly) in the room, but more spacious wardrobe and plugging (for mobile charging) beside beds are needed. Excellent Wi-fi in the room. Extremely close (50m) to the nearest beach (Ammos) , and 5 min walk to the Lake and Port. Other beaches in the city also available by foot (10 or 20 min). Hotel Manager/Owner was very kind and helpful, first evening our group arrived very late (11pm), but anyway dinner was prepared for us. Last day later check out was available without charge.

This is not a 4 star as reported: probably 2 o 3 star max. Room is very small. Old structure. Air conditioned is not able to refresh 6 mq. Pool is open only from 10 until 17. Breakfast time is from 7:30 until 9:30. Very very bad. We left in advance.
