This is such a beautiful resort! And the private beach is one of the most beautiful beaches on the island. We stayed in an ocean view, private pool room and it was amazing! The pool and the rest of the amenities were 10/10. The food at breakfast and at the restaurants was delicious and had many vegetarian options. Overall a great stay and we will definitely be back again!

The Santhiya is a really lovely hotel. The staff are plentiful and ultra polite and helpful. Our room (hideaway villa) was really comfortable, with a lovely pool and patio area. The bathroom is also very nice with a lovely, high pressure and hot outdoor shower. I loved the shower! The bed and pillows are comfortable and the aircon works superbly. The only slight negative is that the hotel is just outside the nearest village. Ideal for getting away from it all, but you do want to visit the village for food and drinks, and as the previous boardwalk collapsed some time ago, you have to clamber over rocks to get to the next beach. Not a huge issue but could be relatively easily fixed. I would definitely stay here again, it has been a wonderful holiday

Total Disappointment at Santiya Resort Koh Phangan: Looks Nice, but That’s About It We stayed at Santiya Resort, drawn in by the beautiful photos and glowing reviews, but our experience was frustrating and deeply disappointing from the start. The Good: The standard rooms are decent—clean, comfortable, and tastefully decorated. But that’s really the only positive. The Bad: We decided to upgrade to a villa with a private pool, paying an additional 52,000 baht (around $1,500 USD). The villa looks amazing at first glance, but that impression quickly fades. It’s located deep in the jungle, which makes sleeping nearly impossible due to the constant noise from wildlife. Even worse, the bathroom is completely outdoors, making it nearly unusable because of the sheer number of insects crawling and flying around. It’s uncomfortable, unhygienic, and absolutely not what you expect at this price point. The next morning, we asked to return to our original room. After hours of arguing with the staff, they finally agreed—but there was no apology, no compensation, nothing. To add insult to injury, we had to pay extra to return to the previous room, and they told us the refund for the upgrade would take 45 days. Unacceptable. And it doesn’t stop there: The check-out process is ridiculously slow. So slow, in fact, that you could easily miss your flight—and the staff couldn’t care less. The resort is massive, and you need a car to get around. They do offer a buggy service, but it’s completely unreliable. On multiple occasions we had to wait 30 to 45 minutes just to be picked up, whether to go for breakfast or to reach the main entrance. It’s a logistical nightmare. In short: A beautiful setting ruined by terrible management. We absolutely do not recommend staying here. At this price, guests deserve professionalism, care, and basic respect.
