Saruni Samburu

My husband and I started off 12 days on safari in October 2024 at Saruni Samburu and absolutely loved it. Our guide, Sumoro, was the best that we experienced throughout our whole trip, and was our personal guide for the entire 3 days we were there. We even went to his village. I also had the best massage of my life here, (actually I got two massages because the first was so good!). The staff goes out of their way to make sure every guest has the best experience, from giving us numerous options for our safari experiences to our server making sure we had a cappuccino to go in the morning for our sunrise drives. The conservancy itself was very interesting compared to the other safaris we went on after, and our guide “tracked” animals throughout the park. We got the closest to the animals here, with elephant ears literally touching the vehicle as they walked by. Don’t hesitate to book here.

We stayed at Saruni Samburu as part of our 2-week safari and beach honeymoon in Kenya. The location on a cliff offers stunning views of the Samburu landscape. Steve took excellent care of us, and Emmanuel, our guide, was fantastic. Thanks to him, we witnessed two incredible cheetah hunts along with the Samburu Special 5. The lodge is beautiful, the food was great and has an Italian slant. The fruit and vegetables were so fresh. A highlight of the stay was a bush dinner, where we got to eat outside in the bush and experience some Samburu tribe culture. Highly recommend Saruni Samburu, and we can't wait to return.

Got this place recommended by a friend, but got really dissapointed. The complex is more like a military base than a lodge. Staff is extremely unfriendly for this level of accommodation. Once i started an argument with the staff member about the service, he reported us to rangers that kept following our car for the rest of the stay until we had to show our valid permit to samburu commander. Honestly, once i read through other reviews here, I fell like they delete the negative ones! Nice view from the top to stay positive overall 🙏🏻 (EDIT) For the reaction below, here is mine: I was about to book the place. I just wanted to know if it is legit by arriving to the reception. Booking places online in Kenya did not work for me multiple times during my 2 week stay.
