Satoria Hotel Yogyakarta

Never disappointed staying at this hotel. The place is comfortable and the staff (Mas Arfan , mbak Anggita, mbak Lela, mas Beni) are very friendly. Next time I come to Jogja, I’ll definitely stay here again.

I paid around $30 per night for a twin bed with breakfast which is already a bang for buck and we love the service from this hotel, however, there are still some issues that we encountered during our stay. Our shower head was dirty (check pic) and we found several cockroaches inside the bathroom even if we have no food inside. Our bedsheet also has a certain smell. We like the room, but not the bathroom. We checked the rooftop if we could see Mt.Merapi but its on the other side. The shampoo and soap labeled as Multi care was also almost empty and the fridge was not working at all. They also have a tv but you can't watch anything unless you have a USB. Its just there for ads. The good: The staff was incredibly welcoming and they are extremely helpful to us. The food (breakfast) and the lunch that we had was also good and filling. Price is reasonable as well. Location is near Prambanan (about 20mins) and an hour away from Borobudor temple. There are several convenience stores and mall near the hotel.

This is a dated hotel which shows in the wear and tear of the rooms. I have had to reprogramme my room keycard twice to get into my room. Others in our group have mentioned doors that cannot be locked, choked shower drainage, stained linen and room safes not working. I have been greeted by a few small cockroaches every night when back- I do not have food in my room. The smell of the bathroom drainage is also bad. However, the staff are brilliant and with warm smiles, go the extra mile to make you feel taken care of. The breakfast buffet is excellent and varied, and the rooftop pool looks ok for a few laps or to catch the sun by.
