Scandic Grand Tromsø

The family room is considered big for a family of 4. The view from. 8th floor is amazing. Toilet is huge. You can find a car park less than 100 meter/2 minutes walk. Download the easy park app and pay. Pretty straightforward. Overall, I am happy with the price and stay.

This hotel was fantastic. Right in the centre of Tromso town. Plenty of nice coffee shops & bars surrounding it. I would recommend Egon for lunch or dinner. It is fantastic and a 2minute walk from the hotel. You will definitely need a reservation! The hotel is comfortable and the staff are efficient and friendly. We had the superior room on 8th floor which was spacious & clean. Our departure flight was early, but the hotel have a breakfast selection at reception for the guests who won’t make breakfast. There were croissants, OJ, yogurts etc. there is also free tea & coffee beside the reception for all hotel guests 24/7. I really liked the wall shop that was beside the tea/coffee facilities. You could get deodorants, snacks etc. There was also a screen with the airport bus timetables available which was very handy. My partner and I were over in Tromso for the ‘Midnight Sun Run’ in June. The bar in the hotel was great fun after the race. We loved our stay here, we could not fault anything.

I’ve stayed at many Scandic hotels over the years, but this was by far the worst. Staff were either rude or clearly unhappy to be there. At check-in, the front desk was especially unfriendly — not acceptable in today’s service standards. The room was unclean, breakfast was chaotic and there were no any restaurant services. Overall, customer service was poor throughout. The only positive was the location — right in the city center, making it easy to explore Tromsø.
