Scandic Järva Krog

A classic hotel has been refreshed over the years. Reasonably modern, even if you can see traces of the age of you look. Room was fine. Clean, pretty large, had everything you’d expect in a hotel room. Bathroom also ok. Breakfast was quite nice. A lot of different options, and you’re bound to find something you like. They have options for vegans as well. Location is not great, but it’s close to the highway, not too far from Mall of Scandinavia, and there are nice routes for walking in Ulriksdal, just across the street. Note that you’ll be hearing the highway as well. It’s quite busy throughout the night and there’s a constant background buzz.

Pretty good location if you have to visit various suburbs of Stockholm. Halfway from airport to city center, conveniently next to highway and 7 mins walk from suburban rail, you can reach pretty much anywhere in decent time. The building itself and some of the equipment inside feels like 1970s, maybe the only drawback why I gave 4 star rating. Breakfast is Scandic standard, absolutely convenient grocery store inside the gas station just underneath the building. I can recommend and I would stay again.

Disappointing stay. The room was overpriced compared to nearby hotels, and the bedding was too soft with no firmer option. Breakfast was limited, and staff were unhelpful—one even responded rudely when I asked for butter. A simple coffee request was mishandled with vague replies. I've noticed service across Scandic hotels has declined over time. I wouldn’t recommend it unless you get a very good deal. Do your research—there are better places nearby for the price.
