Scandic Stiklestad

This hotel located on historic ground is worth visiting if you are for example doing like we did: Driving from northern Norway to the south. Connected to the hotel is a museum making it possible to consume some local history. We didnt get that chance due to exhausted children after many hours on the road. We chose to explore the area to find some good food instead. I was too tired to care about the lack of good customer service from the reception staff. Maybe she had an extremely bad day. 😅

I booked a wheelchair accessible room, but it was tricky entering and exiting on my own so I can’t give it full points. Interior was spacious enough for me to navigate without bumping into everything, and the bath was too. The shower was nicely designed to be usable with my wheelchair/shower chair and with grip bars to steady myself when transferring. Not uncomfortable, but not the best beds. I was unlucky with how busy it was when I stayed. My dinner order got delayed, and the drink I ordered after I got my food came when I was done eating. The staff were friendly, but clearly had too much to do. I felt stressed staying in the restaurant, so went to my room pretty quickly. There were also a lot of flies buzzing about, landing on the food. Location wise it’s understandable, but it’s still not exactly appetizing. The hotel is nicely located with the culture center and surrounding historical area.

Horrible location, very hidden elevator as well as staff that cannot be bothered to help you. Wifi is so horrible that my vidro call disconnected 3 times and I nearly lost my job. Came here as part of a group tour. Staff treated us like a money tree, not people. Our towels were not replaced and our room wasnt cleaned even after asking directly. Weird black mold spot located on mirror, travelers beware!!
