Scandic Torget Bergen

This is a brilliant place to stay when visiting Bergen. It's right on the harbour, 5 minutes walk from the cable car station and train station. Staff are really friendly and helpful (you can tell they're Norwegian!) and the hotel is spotless. Buffet breakfast is amazing, well stocked and great variety of food. I'm not veggie or vegan but I noticed they have a table with vegan options on it. Highly recommend.

I had a wonderful stay at this hotel. Upon arrival, I was unexpectedly upgraded to the master suite, which offered a rooftop balcony that had stunning view of the harbor and Mount Fløyen. The room was modern, spacious, and well-designed. The bed was very comfortable, and it was completely quiet at night, with no noise from outside. Breakfast was excellent, with a wide variety of fresh and tasty options (local, vegan, gluten free, etc). The hotel location was ideal and within easy walking distance of the city’s main attractions. Overall, this hotel made my time in Bergen truly memorable, and I would gladly stay here again.

The hotel itself is part of a large chain, providing budget accommodation. This of course means the accommodation won't be top of the line. However my rooms were sub-optimal. One room's fridge was missing, and over half of the windows wouldn't open. And in the other room the light fixing was hanging off the wall. At the desk the service was okay, however the receptionist didn't really answer the questions we had. However the majority of this gets trumped by the location factor. It's right on the harbour and next to the local fish market. Everything is within walking distance or if you are planning on venturing further a stream, there is a light rail station 10 minutes away. Overall it was a good place to stay the night, just don't have very high expectations.
