This Beijing Hotel, look wise beautiful, but old and maintenance is very poor, Chinese speaking staff will make your travel plan very memorable and enjoyably. Food is so so, not very testy, service is also poor. but overall experience is like you are in a castle in Birmingham. Great feelings.

★★☆☆☆ May 2019

Stayed May 2019 Very worn down. Needs an update. We are from Australia so we look for amenities that matter to Western Visitors. Location - Main road. Nothing close by. Room info - very small. Wallpaper peeling off the wall everywhere. Plug sockets didn't work and lots of things hanging off the wall. Air con - didn't work. Cleanliness - room smelled of smoke. I would hesitate to says it's clean. Wifi - there but it didn't work. TV - no english channels Reception - didn't understand English. Hotel food - all Asian. No western food. Would I stay again - no

★☆☆☆☆ Dec 2024

Entire ninth floor smells like cigarettes. Carpets are nasty. Rooms are constantly moist despite constantly running the air conditioner. Temperature in the room rarely gets to the temperature you set. WiFi doesn't work 90% of the time, and when it does, it's dialup speeds. The walls are paper thin and you can hear the light switches clicking in the next room and every word spoken in the hallway. Room service will hang up on you if you don't speak Chinese. Maids walk in on you without knocking. Food served in the restaurant is bland and unappealing and breakfast constantly runs out of stuff (food, juice, utensils). The room keys will inexplicably stop working and you have to go to the front desk for a fix. While I stayed there, they shut off the hot water for maintenance for a day and one elevator stopped working. It's not near any good shopping or restaurants. I asked the concierge for help and he just apologized and said "I don't know" and I asked if there was someone who spoke English and he simply repeated "I don't know I don't know I don't know" until I finally walked away. There is no reason to stay at this hotel!!!
