Schweizerhof Zermatt

I visited Zermatt in the middle of May, a time when most of the five-star hotels were closed for the season. After some research, I decided to book a room at the Hotel Schweizerhof, a four-star property, and I must say it turned out to be a great choice. From the moment I arrived, I was welcomed warmly by the hotel staff, who were exceptionally friendly and helpful throughout my stay. Their professionalism and hospitality made a real difference and created a very positive impression. The hotel itself is beautifully maintained, with modern Alpine decor that balances elegance and coziness. My room was spacious, spotless, and very comfortable, offering all the amenities I needed for a relaxing stay. I particularly appreciated the attention to detail in cleanliness and the overall peaceful atmosphere. Despite being a four-star hotel, the experience felt much closer to five-star service, especially given the quality of the facilities and the personalized attention I received. The location is also ideal, right in the heart of Zermatt, with easy access to the train station and the main shopping street. Overall, Hotel Schweizerhof exceeded my expectations. I would highly recommend it to anyone visiting Zermatt, especially during the mid-season when other luxury options may be closed.

Awesome little hotel right in the heart of Zermatt. 2 minutes walk to the train station and 10 minutes walk to the cable car. Everything else in between. Awesome views of the Matterhorn from our balcony as well. Only downside there is no AC in the room and it was HOT. Too hot to sleep even with the door open and a desk fan the reception provided. We were there June 1, so first day of summer and it was this hot. Would be better in the winter when it is colder.

My overall stay was good, but I left behind a charger and a pair of Hermes sandals in the room. I contacted the hotel and they did respond — the charger was found, but unfortunately, the sandals were not. While I appreciate the communication, it’s concerning that a valuable item can go missing without explanation. I recommend future guests double-check their room before checking out, and I suggest the hotel review its lost-and -found peocedures.
