Sea Dance Resort

Loved Sea Dance Resort! We stayed in a pool villa bungalow and it was fabulous. Super spacious, room with great amenities and nice little plunge pool, very comfortable overall. Pool was very nice with great views of the small beach and sea. Note that the beach is sandy, but the water line was very rocky, perhaps not ideal for swimming. We had several good meals at the on-site restaurant. Staff was lovely and always very accommodating. Helped us get a motorbike, find affordable laundry since we were staying longer term. The area is a bit away from it all, but Samui is not a huge island, so nothing felt too far for us. In fact, we rather appreciated the seclusion away from the crowds. Highly recommend!

Even beforehand, the hotel contacted us to ask if they should organize a taxi from the airport to the hotel. Upon arrival in the beautiful lobby, we were welcomed with a cold tea. We were immediately allowed to enjoy the loungers on the beach and were promptly informed as soon as the rooms were fully cleaned. One room had an outdoor bathroom, the other a pool, and everything was decorated with fresh flowers. It was lovely to relax on the hotel beach, and there were hardly any people since there is only one other hotel next door. However, it’s not great for swimming in the sea because there are many rocks and stones. On the other hand, the pool is fantastic, and there’s even a pool bar with a daily happy hour offering 1+1 free drinks. Breakfast is served beautifully close to the beach, and everything tasted great. A particular highlight was the grill evening with tables set directly on the beach, even if the price for the food was relatively high. The restaurant manager kindly recommended good places for dinner for the remaining evenings. The service was excellent — you could get in touch anytime via WhatsApp, they arranged mopeds for us, and more. We thoroughly enjoyed our stay.

Sea Dance Resort is a lovely place for a laid back island experience. Set in lush tropical gardens with loads of privacy. The villas are nicely decorated and very spacious. The restaurant area is very idyllic and the food is very good. The pool is also nice and never crowded as many villas have their own plunge pool (which we much enjoyed). Poy, the owner, is a sweet guy and he has such nice staff helping him out. We were there for 4 nights with a family of 5 (10,13 and 16). We rented a car to be more flexible which was a good decision as getting around from this location via taxi would be more costly and time consuming. The beach is not suitable for swimming (loads of rocks) yet those same rocks give opportunity for snorkeling and rocking walking. Poy organizes weekly live serene music on the beach which added to the authentic island lifestyle experience. Overall a great place. For us, the only thing that would be nice to have is a gym. We are sporty people and feel a daily work out is nice (even on holidays).
