Seamill Hydro Hotel & Resort

We had our daughters wedding in the hotel on Friday 4th July. Despite it being a typical Scottish summer day it did not spoil the day. Rebekah the wedding coordinator was fantastic on the day. She was all over the event with her happy smile and enthusiasm she is a great asset for the hotel. Definitely a fantastic employee who should be cherished. All the staff were excellent and were very helpful.

Great location for wedding and good food and service but surprised with a couple of aspects of the room. 1)air conditioning units outside the room were extremely noisy and meant that despite the warm weather, couldn't open the window. 2) bathroom door was badly fitted such that it just had to be wedged into the door frame and couldn't shut properly. 3) when using the shower, water wouldn't drain away and despite someone cleaning the trap out, it was just the same the next morning. Not quite what I expected from this calibre of hotel although the bridal suite was stunning.

Okay this place is really hard to rate. First of all, it's in a wonderful location and the beach and walking trail right in front of the hotel are superb. Service was spotty. Most restaurant personnel were very competent and friendly, barkeeper less than polite, staff at breakfast seemed bored and stressed at the same time, but did their job. People at reception correct but ultimately lacked a certain friendliness. Food at the restaurant was very good. Breakfast not up to par with price for hotel. Buffet reminded me of a motel style breakfast. Room was very nice. We had a Signature room, so highest category. Location, view and size were amazing. Furniture good although a bit dated. However everything was very clean. I'm not sure if I'd go back. They need to become more consistent.
