Selcukhan Hotel

We just stayed in Selçukhan Hotel and had a great experience, already planning to stay in it next year for a longer time. Shamil (Шамиль из Баку Азербайджан) was very helpful accommodating our transfer back, kids were thrilled by inexpensive but impressive limo ride to the airport. He made sure we would get the limo on time, even made a follow-up call to be sure we got to our destination. Elmira (animator) was lovely, kids were charmed by her. What a great person.

I don’t even know where to begin. This hotel claims to be a 4-star, but nothing lives up to the standards you’d expect — not even close. The majority of the staff is incredibly rude, especially towards tourists. They treat you like you’re bothering them for simply asking basic questions or requesting what was promised. There’s absolutely no sense of hospitality or professionalism. Let’s talk about the food: meal times are a joke. They set specific hours for breakfast, lunch, and dinner, but they don’t respect them at all. If it says food is served until 10am, good luck getting anything after 9:30 — they’ll start packing everything up and even shut the doors early. No explanation, no apology. One of the biggest disappointments was the gözleme stand. According to the hotel’s own schedule, it’s supposed to be open for 4.5 hours every day. In reality, it’s open for maybe 30 minutes — if you’re lucky. And don’t even think about asking for more than one — the lady running it will just tell you she “can’t make that many” and send you away. In short: this place is all show and no substance. Poor service, false advertising, and an overall hostile atmosphere. Definitely not worth the money, and definitely not a 4-star experience. I would never come back, and I wouldn’t recommend it to anyone, specially if you are not russian, since half of the staff can’t even speak turkish or english.

From the reviews i expected way more from this hotel, the rooms are old, dirty, outdated and the conditioner in the room are old and broken. The worst part is the rooms are infested with cockroaches. And it’s not only the rooms full with the cockroaches also the restaurant. We had our room switched because of the infestation, but a few days later we found the cockroaches in our new room again. Also during all of the meals of the day you can smell cigarette smoke from other hotel visitors. Overall the food is nice. The service is quick, the staff is nice and helpful.
