Room and facilities are fine. A/C didn't work well and room was very hot. Ahmad from guest services was very kind and tried to identify a room with better A/C function. I moved to the other room in which the A/C was also not effective. Breakfast was good but the price of 16 euros is outrages.

We booked the Sleep, Park, Fly package where you get a nights stay, parking while flying on vacation from Hamburg Airport and shuttle service to and from the airport. Everything was as expected and it was very nice not having to worry about transportation and parking when going to and from the airport. Very relaxing.

This was our first time at Radisson in Hamburg and probably our last. I have been at several Radisson hotels and they have always kept a pretty high standard. I must admit that this combined with the four star label made for promises that it could not keep. To begin with the reception only has one staff member attend the guests checking in which meant we and others kept waiting quite long. During the check-in process we were asked to remove our car from the adjacent parking lot to a parking space on the rooftop of a public parking garage a 10 min walk from the hotel even though there were plenty of spaces in the aforementioned parking lot - By the way, the directions/map to the parking garage was misguiding. As we arrived around dinner time I asked the receptionist if the hotel restaurant was any good and he said it was and specifically recommended the barbecue. Hence, we unfortunately took his advice which turned out to be a horrible mistake. It is one of the worst "food" experiences I have ever had. The so-called barbecue buffet consisted of shamingly cheap frost products (burger slaps, chicken and potato wedges etc.) which briefly had a turn on the grill and then left in cold metal containers which meant the food was all between cold to lukewarm. The quality of the food was appalling and we have had better in cheap fast food stands - at least they do not pretend. The buffet was an outraging EUR 20 per person but I would hardly rate worth EUR 5. Normally I would have completely refused to pay, but while I left the table my wife had already had a talk with the restaurant staff who had knocked off a measely 10 % as a result. Since I was too tired after a long drive I did not wish to take the issue any further at that point when the reception did not want to get into a complaint and referred us to the restaurant staff. Hence, we went to our room which was fine - though not four star material in my view, as it was a bit worn down and lacking amenities as conditioner. After a good nights sleep we wanted a good breakfast before the long flight. Since there is nothing else in the area and the breakfast buffet looked ok, we were again left dissapointed with the quality, although not in any way close to the experience the evening before. For instance the bread was stale and the juice was of poor concentrate quality - nowhere near justifying the EUR 16 pricetag. All in all, I do regret to say that this hotel does not come anywhere near the normal standard that I have encountered at Radisson hotels both in Europe and across the Atlantic. How it has reached four stars is beyond me... The best thing and service was from the hotel shuttle taking us to the airport.
