Senator Gandia

Great 4 star hotel in a very good location. When we arrived in the evening Josep did our check in very smoothly and told us about breakfast and the facilities. The hotel is eco friendly and has a different layout of the rooms, therefore don't be surprised if the shower booth and sink is in "open space" in the room, the toilet is in a separate cubicle. The hotel provides tea, and coffee facilities for the room, and also water. Also there is a spa (which we didn't have the time to use), the swimming pool is nice and well kept, the sun loungers and the relaxing area are also very clean and enjoyable. The bar staff are helpful. The breakfast is plentiful and the staff at the breakfast reception is very professional. The bed in the room is just the best thing ever, and the pillows too, are very good quality. The rooms are cleaned every day. The hotel is pet friendly, but believe me when I am telling you - I couldn't hear the dog next door. All in all, we had a great stay at this hotel and everything was fine. We didn't have a car, so I can't say anything about parking. The bus stop going to Gandia is accessible nearby and it's easy to travel. If you love the beach, you are not far from it, literally walking distance - 10 minutes if you walk slowly. And good restaurants and terraces around.

It is a nice hotel with a nice pool area. The room was clean. Receptionist friendly. It was a disadvantage that we sat at the pool restaurant and we were waiting for the waitress for 15 minutes and nobody came. The breakfast is average. It was strange to see the kitchenlady who prepared the egg dishes used the same place for cutting fresh fruits - where the raw eggs were...

*Update. We had a waitress called Debbie during lunch in the ground floor bar. She was lovely and really friendly. Thank you, Debbie! * The rooms have strong Aircon which was fabulous. Also the beds are very comfortable. However,no pool towels were available and you have to ask at reception. We waited ages in a queue to be told they had run out and to come back later. Uh, no! Note the shower is INSIDE the bedroom, which to be fair,you can see from the photos,sort of. The cappuccino was horrible. I couldn't even drink it. The people we saw were not particularly friendly though they definitely are not rude. Nothing about it felt 4 star level. I would only go back there if I absolutely had to and I'd remind myself the Aircon and bed is good to psych myself up for it. Only one more night to go and I'm looking forward to leaving.
