Senhora da Rosa Tradition & Nature Hotel

Erica welcomed us and took us on a tour of the resort. Made us feel very welcome even though we arrived hours before check in. Stores our luggage for us and explained that we were welcome in all the common area which included changing area. We were able to change our clothes and brush our teeth before heading out Midstay there was an issue with our room. Marta quickly assessed the issue and moved us to a larger room. She was very professional I loved the pool, the gardens. We enjoyed several of the common areas. A library on the first floor and a garden room on the second

It’s a beautiful boutique resort that is centrally located and within walking distance of the town. Rooms were lovely but make sure you bring your own shampoo and conditioner because they only offer tiny little soaps for shampoo and conditioner and the body soap was tiny too. I have long curly hair so the conditioning soap left my hair tangled and frizzy. Fortunately i brought my own products. The front desk will give you more if you request it. Pool was lovely and so was the hot tub. Food wise, I wasn’t that impressed. Portion sizes for lunch and dinner were tiny. I was on a yoga retreat with a group who asked for seconds which royally ticked off the chef as he was offended. We ate a ton of bread to make up for it. The yoga studio was a heated one which was lovely as our group practices hot yoga. The staff were friendly and helpful.

We checked in on July 2 with high expectations based on the photos and description, but the experience didn’t match the advertised standard. The room smelled strongly of mildew, and perfume was sprayed throughout the property. Both caused allergy symptoms sneezing, congestion, red eyes that became so severe we had to leave and find a different hotel. The amenities were also misrepresented. While yoga and Pilates are listed, they’re only offered twice per week and are not included in your stay. The Pilates class was priced at around $100 USD per session, which felt excessive given the already high nightly rate. The property itself is noticeably run down. Pool chairs were dirty, umbrellas were broken, and the food was overpriced and underwhelming. I’d recommend bringing conditioner as the hotel does not provide any. When we brought up our concerns with staff and asked about checking out early or receiving a partial refund, we were met with defensiveness. No resolution was offered. When we did check out four days early, the front desk manager stood by in silence, watching us leave without a word. We made an effort to address the issues directly, but the staff showed no interest. I would not recommend this hotel.
