The host Norberto was excellent - very kind, accommodating and helpful. We loved the room and the continental breakfast every day was fantastic. There is a comfortable indoor lounge area to read a book, and the pool area is very nice (though we were unfortunate with the weather). We hired a car so we could get around and see some sights, which I'd personally recommend as it could feel a little isolated if using taxis every day.

Wonderful family-run hotel tucked away in the Arrábida natural area. The hotel is beautifully decorated inside and out, and the beds were very comfortable. Plenty of space to park cars - which are needed in this area. We were greeted by Norberto who was very friendly and accommodated our late check in. Mário Miguel, the owner, was a great host and very accommodating of our group despite a couple of hiccups on our side. Grateful for the hospitality and will be back again when I’m in the area.

I read the reviews here, in Booking and Trip Advisor, and can't believe them. We stayed in the garden room, and it seems it's the least-loved room: we left after one night although had booked for longer. The room was extremely humid, the bathroom door is a sliding one and doesn't fully close. There is no other window than the bathroom one and has no mosquito net. It seems it used to be a very beautiful place, but the pictures in Booking do not represent the current situation of the property. Probably in any other room people have much better experiences. We just found a place that lacked love and care for the details. They offered us another room after we complained but we just wanted to leave. We appreciated the refund for all nights and hope that also this room gets some love.
