I really loved this hotel and am glad I stayed here. Booked two nights in a twin room. Beds are comfortable, tv has streaming services, good amenities at the front desk, great sauna (steam only) and bath (switch between men/women daily) and enjoyed the breakfast and free welcome drink at the bar. Staff are considerate. Lots of foreign guests make a mess in the bath/sauna which is a shame though. Can take a bus or walk to popular areas like Kawaramachi.

The room was super nice and spacious, and the bed was comfortable — it made resting after a long day so easy and relaxing 😌. While the view from my room was just a building, I didn’t mind at all because everything else made up for it. The comfort of the bed and the size of the room really made it feel like a peaceful space to come back to 🫶🏻. The staff were all friendly, kind, and very helpful, which made the experience even better. The location is also very convenient — perfect for getting around Kyoto easily.

I arrived at the hotel in the afternoon, expecting to check in as stated. There was only one female staff member at the front desk, and she told us that check-in would only be available at 5 PM. My friend and I went out and returned around 3:30 PM to wait. We stayed there patiently, but there was no communication or acknowledgment from the staff. Later, other guests came and were allowed to line up ahead of us, even though we had been waiting. Eventually, a staff member came to the check-in area, looked at us briefly, then switched the display to Chinese and walked away without saying anything. The manner felt slightly dismissive and unwelcoming. Overall, I didn’t feel warmly welcomed, and the service from this particular female staff member was unprofessional and unfriendly. I believe the hotel should improve staff training in hospitality and communication.
