We stayed at this hotel for 2 nights during our trip to Spain. We thought the hotel and decor were fantastic. The beds were very comfortable and the staff was friendly. The only downside could be that parking your car requires you to drive through very narrow streets. However, before arrival, the hotel sent us a very helpful video, explaining how to get to the hotel. Would really recommend!
Lovely hotel featuring an open courtyard area. Good service, spacious room and good breakfast. Situated close to the centre of the city so very convenient for the Alhambra and other attractions. Recommended.
Beautiful Hotel, Horrible Experience with Management — I Will Not Return While the architecture and interior design of Sercotel Palacio de los Gamboa are undeniably stunning, my experience as a paying guest was nothing short of shocking and humiliating. I was visiting friends in Granada and returned to my room with them after a late dinner before heading out to the bars. At no point was I informed that I could not have guests in my room—especially not for something as harmless as storing their bags while I showered. My friends were never unaccompanied, never had a room key, and were not staying overnight. To my absolute disbelief, the next morning six police officers arrived at my door with hotel management accusing me of having broken the law. I was given no warning, no explanation beyond “you cannot have any guests,” and was ordered to vacate the property within 15 minutes. I was treated like a criminal in a foreign country for something that, at best, should have warranted a polite conversation or clarification of policy. Instead, I was publicly humiliated and forced out like a threat to the hotel. This was an extremely aggressive, unnecessary, and deeply disrespectful way to treat a guest. The lack of communication, the complete overreaction, and the decision to involve law enforcement without any dialogue is unforgivable. Despite the hotel’s beauty, I cannot in good conscience recommend it. There are many wonderful hotels in Granada with equally charming architecture—and without the risk of being treated with such hostility and disregard. Travelers beware: If you value basic hospitality, fair treatment, and the dignity of being spoken to before being escorted out by the police, look elsewhere.
