Serena Hotel Punta del Este Unique on the Beach Adults Only

I stayed at Serena 2 years ago and had the greatest most memorable experience that I wanted to stay again when I was just in Uruguay for business this December. Disappointed by my stay to say the least.. it felt like things really went downhill, food especially. I never would have stayed here had I know the room that I booked was as small as it was. You truly could not move comfortably and the bed was a twin.. and felt even smaller. The price for the product.. not worth it. There was also mold on the shower ceiling... While the staff was lovely and helpful- the service left me disappointed more than once. I'm so upset to have had this negative experience because while I love the hotel style and beach life, I will not stay again.

An okay hotel. It’s a bit far from the Peninsula, but the location at the beach and it’s pool make it really beautiful. However, the rooms are super small and noisy. Also, no one speaks English. Breakfast is a la Carte, which is nice.

The rooms are nice and clean and the view from the room was excellent. The breakfast was very good and the waiter was very friendly. But we had a few disappointments: First of all, the swimming pools were under maintenance and the restaurant was not working. At no point were we informed that these services would be unavailable, neither by the hotel nor by the travel agency. Secondly, as soon as we arrived and they noticed that we didn't speak Spanish, the guy on reception started talking very fast on purpose, laughing with the other staff too, making the atmosphere very uncomfortable. The hotel is far from the city center, but Uber works well in the area and they are very friendly. In any case, I wouldn't specifically stay at this hotel again. But the city and services in general in Punta del Este are wonderful.
