Great serviced apartment (note, its not a traditional hotel). The rooms/apartment was big, clean, in a great location close to metro & main connecting stations such as L’Est. Also great service, they bought up a lovely breakfast the next morning. Felt completely safe with the door locks, combinations too.
We stayed here for one night with four people. The biggest advantages are the central location and good accessibility: the hotel is within walking distance of Gare du Nord, about 20 minutes by public transport to the Louvre, and around 30 minutes to the Champs-Élysées. Public transport (bus and metro) as well as a supermarket are just around the corner, which was very convenient. The room was also fairly clean, which we appreciated. Unfortunately, there were several noticeable downsides. Upon arrival, the receptionist was rude and unhelpful. We were given a door code to access our room, but it didn’t work. After some back-and-forth, it turned out the code was outdated, and we were supposed to receive a different one. Quite confusing—especially since they don’t use a key card system like most hotels. On top of that, someone had locked the door from the inside, so it wouldn’t open even with the correct code. Very strange. We also received no explanation or information about the hotel or its facilities. It felt like we were left to figure things out ourselves. In addition, the toilet door wouldn’t close properly, and the flush button was broken. The elevator is extremely narrow, which is a hassle when carrying luggage. All in all, we felt this hotel does not live up to its 4-star rating—it’s more like a 2-star experience at best. For one night, it was acceptable due to the location, but we would not recommend this hotel for a longer stay.
Positives: The room was well-sized and quiet at night with no outside noise. The hotel is located close to the train station and attractions are within walking distance. The checkout time was 12pm, which is quite rare and makes traveling comfortable. The reception was willing to stare luggage after checkout. Negatives: Check in was from 3pm, I arrived at 3.45pm and the room wasn't ready yet. Tho I was offered coffee, I had to wait for 15 minutes. On day 2, when we returned from exploring the city, there was a man fixing the door lock saying it was broken - it worked fine for us the day before. When we asked the reception, he said that this was planned maintenance. We were not informed and someone entered our room without letting us know while we were out of town! We then had to wait half an hour while they fixed the lock and saw how the guy was resetting it multiple times. This made us feel very uncomfortable and unsafe. The aircon/heater in the room made no sense and was constantly blowing cold air, so it was cold in the room. The room or reception had no supplies (such as needle and thread, which is common for any hotel?).
