Review of Shama Sukhumvit Bangkok – A Safe, Family-Friendly Hotel with Great Location Family-Friendly & Secure: Shama Sukhumvit is an excellent choice for families, offering spacious serviced apartments with kitchenettes, washing machines, and separate living areas ideal for longer stays. The hotel enforces keycard access for elevators and backdoor entry, ensuring only guests can enter, which adds a strong sense of security. Comfortable & Hygienic Amenities: The rooms are well-maintained, and the toilets include a bidet spray (water hose), which is a convenient and hygienic feature, especially for muslim families. Prime Location Near a Hospital & Arab District: The hotel is just 800 meters from Bumrungrad International Hospital, one of Bangkok’s best medical facilities. It’s also within walking distance of Soi Arab (Sukhumvit Soi 3/1), home to Middle Eastern restaurants and halal food options great for those who prefer Arabic cuisine. Final Verdict: A safe, clean, and well-located hotel perfect for families and travelers who value security, medical access, and cultural familiarity. The keycard system, bidet-equipped toilets, and proximity to the Arab area make it a great pick. 9/10!
All staff members are friendly and very approachable! Your staff member, Fatu, at reception is highly recommended. She exceeded our expectations. As a hotelier with experience in management at Sands China Hotel and Resort in Macau, I can say that this staff member is an asset to your team. She anticipates guests' needs and always follows Forbes standards, such as greeting with a smile and sincerely.
The hotel is quiet and its location is great, but the room furniture was very worn out, the bed sheets were torn, the room door was broken and made annoying sounds when opened, and when we asked them to fix it, they did not do so. Also, the management is very bad. We were moved more than once to other rooms because of other guests, and the last time they moved us to another branch of Shama, which also has the same problem and the same bad management.
