It’s quite overwhelming when booking your first trip to a Game reserve in Africa especially for an Englishman ! Massive country and choice but careful research always will assist with the best places for your taste and circumstances Shamwari was highly rated and recommended and now we have experienced it for 4 days it has exceeded our expectations From the moment you arrive it’s clear that this is a very special place run by very special personnel The high standards are consistent throughout from accommodation to food and the Safari drives are amazing seeing every type of beautiful animal anyone could wish for in their natural habitat This was a special birthday celebration trip supposed to be a once in a lifetime trip However we are determined to return and enjoy this fabulous place again Highly recommended

We just had the best experience you can imagine. Our rangers Sam, Maurice and Andre at the Explorers Camp have been perfect. Also the hospitality of Unbutu. So nice people. And the most delicious food. We can’t thank enough for this trip

We had a wonderful stay with very warm and personalised care, and much attention to detail. The food was delicious - lots of variety with new and exciting meals each day. We appreciated the creative efforts the staff went to in order to accommodate dietary needs. We really loved our ranger, Jessie Louw, a great tracker and spotter, who carefully planned game drives to make each one a unique experience, accommodating our interests with competency and a wealth of knowledge. We thoroughly enjoyed visiting Born Free and the Wildlife Rehabilitation Centre. What a wonderful team of people working at Shamwari.
