The staff are incredible and extremely helpful, always willing to go the extra mile. We had issues with our shower leaking onto the floor and advised reception. Mapula promptly resolved the issue and was welcoming and courteous throughout. The air conditioning did not work in room 214 and their towels could use an upgrade, but these are negligible matters. Overall an amazing stay with fantastic staff and breakfast buffet to die for. Definitely visiting again and sincerely hope the staff are commended on their awesome service.
The restaurant service was amazing , thanks to the waiter named William , he did his job so well and amazing. Also not to forget the most delicious and unforgettable meal I've ever had in decades prepared by chef rose , personally I think that kitchen deserves a 100/10 . Thank you Shangri-la and the kitchen staff .
I'm so disappointed after my stay with them. We booked for 3 nights and specifically asked for a room suitable for my wheelchair as I'm a paraplegic. We arrived and my wife had to unpack and move to the room, after we were in the room we realised that I would not be able to enter the bathroom so we called reception and they moved us to another room and again I could not get to the bathroom. After my wife walked up and down with one of the employee's they told us to drive around to a new room, so she packed up again and we drove up and unpacked and moved in. Once in the room, we realised that there was only one old duvet and no extra blankets and AC was not working. We struggled through the night with 2 single beds put together as a King-size (Hole in the middle) and the drain kept bubbling up when other guest flushed toilets. Before heading out for the day my wife went to reception to report the drain, AC and asked for a extra blanket as I get cold very easy. We returned early evening in the dark to see there was no blanket and AC was still not working, so my wife had to go to reception again and they gave her a blanket and said they checked the drain. We slept hearing the drain bubbling the whole night and when we awoke the room was flooded with raw sewage! Our bag on the floor was wet en my wheels were in the sewage so I was done staying there. We went to reception to tell them about the bad experience we had and they wanted to move us again and I was not willing to move to another room again and told them we will rather go elsewhere. I asked if they can refund me the last night we didn't stay and they gave me a e-mail to log my complaint so I sent a e-mail to Dirk Jansen and he was not willing to refund us and said I can stay at one of their other sites for a discount and that they will provide additional training and they are aware of the drain system being faulty. Remember this is advertised as a 4 star hotel and I'm not their Guinea pig to move around while they try to figure out how to do it right. Staff was friendly and it's such a beautiful place however the management doesn't give a damn about their customers.
