Shangri La Lhasa

This is a very good hotel. We stayed all together 6 nights there. Everything is so good, the location, the services, the rooms and the food. They have an oxygen bar open 24 hours free of charge. You definitely need that esp the first couple of days when you just arrived in Lhasa. There is a medical clinic there too which is so convenient. Ms Chen in the front counter is so helpful and efficient at her work. If you are over 50 and want to go to Tibet, I highly recommend you stay in this hotel.

The hotel was at first glance a welcome sight but ...the hotel is trying to hard and not meeting its high aim the staff are very friendly but struggle with English except for the front desk. We could not get anybody to get us a beer until 6pm after walking up mountains I felt I had earned a drink but had to leave the hotel to find one. The steam room has no steam freezer conditions the jacuzzi has no jets but is warm and my advice wear thermal underpants if you want a swim. We had no outside Intrest as all turned of but was still more interesting than watching the bar person murder my beer which you can only get after 6pm. Breakfast was plentiful but we felt it was the same bread Danish eggs etc that you did not eat yesterday or even the day before ? ... The restaurant downstairs was outstanding the food was excellent but still weird service plates will pile up as you eat as same as upstairs they wait to clean a table not as you eat.strange experience tbh should of been a excellent experience bit off all round clean tidy but a bit broken.
