Shangri La Santa Monica

This is a truly outstanding hotel, second to none. We went as a family of four, traveling with our two young boys aged 2 and 5 for 3 nights and had an unforgettable time. All the team were super friendly and Johnnie in concierge really helped us get the most of our time. The spa was exceptional, beach butler service, kids bikes, pool, babysitting, kids tents in our suite etc etc ! They did so much to make our time a success. They also got us a reservation at Muse and took us in their house Bentley for the dinner. I thoroughly recommend this hotel! Thanks Team Regent Santa Monica.

From the moment we arrived, Johnnie set the tone for an exceptional experience. His warmth and hospitality were unlike anything we’ve encountered at a hotel before. He greeted us with genuine kindness, making us feel more like returning friends than first-time guests. His energy is magnetic—welcoming, calm, and full of positivity. What stood out most was how naturally he made us feel at home. Johnnie didn’t just say hello—he gave us a warm, thoughtful tour, answered all our questions with care, and invited us to truly catch the vibe of the space. It’s rare to meet someone who clearly loves what they do as much as he does. His passion radiates in every interaction, and it’s that rare mix of heart, professionalism, and charisma that gives us a real reason to come back. Johnnie isn’t just a concierge—he’s the soul of the place.

I don’t often leave reviews unless I feel compelled. Amazing experience at this hotel. Went above and beyond expectations. Very welcoming towards my toddler daughter and incredibly thoughtful. They provided even my daughter with a welcome drink, a stuffed toy animal to choose from and a sweet treat with her name on it in the hotel room. They also set up a play tent for her some toys and even had a small robe for her in the room. Great service at the pool, cleanly rooms and the fire pit outdoor area attached to our room was perfect for my wife and I during our toddlers naptime and early bedtimes. Very convenient location and the hot tub/heated pool was great. The staff was very friendly and always wanted to help. My wife and I usually feel a bit guilty as we worry about other hotel guests when we bring our toddler along to a more luxury hotel so as not to disrupt the experience for others, but everybody was so welcoming. Cannot say enough good things about this hotel. Would give more than 5 stars if I could.
